John Cena paid tribute on social media Monday to Benjamin Satterley, known as PAC in AEW and as Neville during his time in WWE.
Cena posted a photo on his official Instagram account of Satterley hitting his trademark Red Arrow, with Cena on the receiving end. As is his custom on the platform, Cena did not include a caption.
The two shared the ring on the May 11, 2015, episode of Raw in one of the best-remembered matches from Cena’s famous United States Championship Open Challenge. Neville hit the Red Arrow that night and came very close to winning the championship, but Rusev’s interference caused the match to end in a disqualification.
The tribute came a few hours after AEW confirmed that Satterley had died at 40. No cause of death has been released.
Satterley had wrestled Saturday at AEW All Out in Hoffman Estates, Illinois. He opened the pay-per-view by challenging Andrade El Ídolo for the AEW National Championship and also appeared later in the main event.
