Swerve Strickland and The New Level (Kofi and Austin Creed) retained the AEW World Trios Championship on Wednesday’s Dynamite in Fishers, Indiana. The win locks them into a title defense at All Out on Saturday.
The finish came when Kofi held Toa Liona in place for Strickland’s House Call, and the pinfall followed.
After the match, “Hangman” Adam Page and Brodido (Bandido and Brody King) came to the ring to confront the champions. Page congratulated them on the win but quickly turned his attention to Strickland, saying Kofi and Creed would soon see who Strickland really is.
Page and Brodido earned their title shot last week by beating The Conglomeration. Strickland, Kofi and Creed won the titles in the Trios Roulette Royale at All In London on Aug. 30.
Wednesday’s win made it official. Strickland and The New Level will defend the AEW World Trios Championship against Page, Bandido and King at All Out.
The pay-per-view is set for Saturday, Sept. 26, at NOW Arena in Chicago.
