Andrade El Ídolo once again criticized WWE‘s handling of its Mexican talent, this time drawing a direct comparison to the opportunities given to Samoan wrestlers over the years.
Speaking on Latin Lover’s podcast Luchando por tus sueños, Andrade brought up Santos Escobar, saying the former WWE wrestler was never given a real shot to establish himself at the top of the company.
Andrade then compared the situation to how WWE has treated its Samoan talent. The current AEW National Champion made a point to exclude Roman Reigns from the criticism, acknowledging that the World Heavyweight Champion made the most of his opportunities and became a major star, but argued that others were given chance after chance for years without reaching the same level.
Andrade didn’t name which Samoan wrestlers he was referring to. His complaint was mainly directed at what he sees as a difference in the patience WWE shows certain talent.
He also pointed to Angel and Berto as wrestlers who should have been given a bigger push. Andrade praised the Los Garza members for their look, charisma, and in-ring ability, saying neither was ever given a real chance to show what they could do. Both remain under contract and have made recent appearances on SmackDown and NXT.
The criticism also extends to Andrade’s own time in WWE. Despite holding the NXT Championship, United States Championship, and WWE Speed Championship across two stints, he said he never felt the company truly put his future in his hands. Andrade left WWE again in September 2025.
This isn’t the first time Andrade has addressed the subject. In December 2025, he said he never considered WWE racist toward him personally but admitted he believes his tag team with Rey Fenix wouldn’t have been taken seriously because both members are Mexican.
