Anthony Bowens may be in his final weeks under his current AEW contract, though a departure from the company has not been confirmed.
According to Fightful Select, Bowens’ deal is set to expire on October 1. No extension has been signed, and the report couldn’t confirm whether Bowens and AEW have begun negotiations on a new deal.
Despite the expiring deal, Bowens continues to be used regularly by the company. He’s still part of The Opps, the faction he joined this past April.
His most recent appearance came at All In last Sunday at Wembley Stadium. Bowens, HOOK, Katsuyori Shibata, and Action Andretti lost to Lio Rush and The Rascalz on the Buy In. Bowens took the fall after Rush hit the Final Hour.
There’s also the Max Caster factor. His contract is expected to expire in October as well, and no renewal has been confirmed.
Bowens has been with AEW since 2020. He won the AEW World Tag Team Championship alongside Caster, and the two later teamed with Billy Gunn to capture the AEW World Trios Championship.
