Will Ospreay may be about to experience the biggest moment of his AEW career. This Sunday, at All In London, the Englishman will challenge Kenny Omega for the AEW World Championship in the main event at Wembley Stadium.
According to Fightful Select, the backstage expectation is that Ospreay will defeat Omega and leave London as the new world champion. The title win has reportedly been discussed by AEW for much of 2026, even before Ospreay’s return to the ring after his neck surgery.
As with any planned result in pro wrestling, the outcome can still be changed up until match time.
Ospreay earned his title opportunity at Forbidden Door, when he defeated Swerve Strickland in the final of the Owen Hart Foundation Men’s Tournament. Omega, on the other hand, began his second reign as AEW World Champion on August 7, after defeating MJF on Dynamite: Beach Break. Ospreay had a direct role in the outcome by preventing MJF from using the Dynamite Diamond Ring.
The possible title change also aligns with another report from this weekend. According to Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Kenny Omega’s heel turn during the All In build came largely from the champion himself. Omega believes that clearly taking on the villain role will help Ospreay have a great crowning moment in front of the English crowd and make the match even more memorable.
If the current plans hold, Ospreay will win the AEW World Championship for the first time in his career on the biggest possible stage for it, in front of his crowd at Wembley Stadium.
