Tyler Breeze is no longer under contract with WWE, and he has just said he would like to work for AEW.
Breeze confirmed his status himself on social media. Asked how he keeps showing up in WWE’s video games when he isn’t on the roster, the former NXT star replied.
“I was under a deal with WWE. Not anymore.”
WWE released Breeze in June 2021 but immediately brought him back in other roles. That deal did not cover in-ring work and involved projects like UpUpDownDown, appearances tied to the WWE 2K franchise and occasional backstage work.
Shortly after clearing up his status, Breeze was asked about the possibility of signing with AEW.
“Would love to be a part of AEW.”
As of now, there is no indication that Breeze is negotiating with AEW or has received an offer. It is also unclear whether the end of his previous WWE deal includes any temporary restriction on signing with another promotion.
Breeze remains active on the independent scene and runs the Flatbacks Wrestling School alongside Shawn Spears. His last televised WWE match came at NXT Homecoming in September 2025, where he lost to Ethan Page in an NXT North American Championship match.
