Austin Creed said he and Kofi had to change their mindset after coming to AEW.
On Tuesday’s AEW Close Up, Creed told Renee Paquette that the two were used to a specific style of wrestling and found a different dynamic in AEW.
Creed explained:
“We’re just so used to a certain style of of wrestling. […] To come in here and go like, ah, you know, well, maybe not this, maybe that, maybe this. It’s like, oh no, everything here is different. It’s almost like the the the cage is open, you know, and you can kind of just flow.”
He added that he can now let matches flow with people who share the same love for wrestling. Creed compared the environment to TNA’s X Division, where he first made a name for himself as Consequences Creed before his run in WWE.
Creed and Kofi debuted at All In: London on August 30 as Swerve Strickland’s surprise partners in the Trios Roulette Royale. The trio eliminated Claudio Castagnoli and PAC last to win the AEW World Trios Championship in their first match with the company.
Three days later, the champions beat The Rascalz in Creed and Kofi’s Dynamite debut. Their second defense came the following week against The Conglomeration.
