Kofi Kingston and Austin Creed are officially back in action. The former New Day members made their AEW debuts at this afternoon’s All In: London at Wembley Stadium.
The surprise came right at the top of the show during the Trios Roulette Royale for the AEW World Trios Championship. Swerve Strickland entered first before revealing Kofi and Creed as his partners, rounding out the seventh and final team in the match.
Along with their debut, the duo unveiled a new identity. Unable to use the New Day name, which is owned by WWE, Kofi and Creed were introduced as The New Level, officially beginning a new chapter in their careers.
Their appearance confirms plans previously reported by Fightful Select ahead of the event. According to Sean Ross Sapp, negotiations with AEW progressed quickly over the past few weeks. As recently as two weeks before All In, neither had a deal in place, but talks were finalized shortly before the show.
Tony Khan had teased a major surprise when he announced the Trios Roulette Royale. The AEW president confirmed seven teams but kept the final trio under wraps until the event.
Kofi and Creed departed WWE in early May, ending runs of over 15 years with the company.
All In also marks a significant milestone for both men. This was Kofi’s first match outside the WWE system since 2006, while Creed hadn’t worked for another promotion since 2010.
