Becky Lynch has denied that she will put the WWE Women’s Intercontinental Championship on the line against Sol Ruca at Saturday Night’s Main Event, despite the confusion created by WWE’s own recent promotion.
The match was set up on this week’s Monday Night RAW, when Ruca challenged the champion to a match on Saturday’s special. At the time, Lynch made it clear that the title would not be on the line.
The situation appeared to change on Tuesday, when WWE began advertising the match as a title bout, raising questions among fans and the wrestling media.
On her official X account, Becky mocked the situation and said there was “misinformation” about the match, accusing the media of pushing for the title to be defended.
There seems to be misinformation regarding my Saturday Nights Main Event match! (The biased wrestling media is pushing the agenda that the title should be on the line!!) NOT GOING TO HAPPEN!!!!

I CLEARLY stated that SUCKER Sol Ruca has done NOTHING to earn a shot at MY VERY…
Lynch also doubled down by saying Ruca has “done nothing” to earn a shot at her “prestigious” Intercontinental Championship, though she added that the young star will get a chance to prove whether she can hang with her in the ring.
As Wrestling Noticias previously reported, WWE deleted the post that listed the match as a title bout and replaced the graphic with a new version, once again presenting the match as a non-title contest.
Saturday Night’s Main Event takes place Saturday, May 23, at the Allen County War Memorial Coliseum in Fort Wayne, Indiana. It will be WWE’s first televised event in the city since 2014.
Elsewhere on the card, Penta will defend the Intercontinental Championship against Ethan Page, while Logan Paul and Austin Theory will put the World Tag Team Championship on the line against The Street Profits.
