Brock Lesnar Nearly Faced The Wyatt Sicks Member in WWE

Dexter Lumis has revealed that he pitched a match against Brock Lesnar during the final stretch of his last WWE run, taking the idea directly to Paul Heyman.

Speaking on Insight with Chris Van Vliet, Lumis said Lesnar was always at the top of his list of dream opponents. The former Wyatt Sicks member said he was upfront about it when he got the chance to talk to Heyman backstage.

“Hey, I want to wrestle Brock Lesnar. How do we do that?”

According to Lumis, that conversation led to talks about a possible change in his presentation. Heyman, who Lumis had been talking to regularly during his final months in WWE, felt Lumis needed to go back to working as a singles wrestler.

“We need to make you a singles guy.”

Lumis said he sensed something might have been in the works for him before he was let go. To be clear, though, Lumis did not say that WWE, Heyman, or Lesnar ever approved or officially planned the match. It was a personal goal he was trying to make happen.

Lumis was released by WWE in April along with the rest of The Wyatt Sicks. It was his second exit from the company after also being let go in April 2022 and brought back four months later.

Any chance of the Lesnar match is now all but gone. The Beast Incarnate wrestled his last match on August 1, losing to Oba Femi inside Hell in a Cell at SummerSlam in Minneapolis. Three days later, Lesnar officially announced his retirement on The Pat McAfee Show.
