Cathy Kelley could be in line for a bigger role in WWE over the coming months, expanding beyond her current position as a backstage interviewer.
According to WrestleVotes Radio, via Fightful Select, those within WWE are very pleased with Kelley’s work and have begun discussing new roles for her. One idea being discussed would make her one of the faces of WWE’s future social media campaigns.
Kelley is also reportedly being considered for a prominent role on the social media side of Club WWE.
Kelley first joined WWE in 2016 as a digital correspondent for WWE.com during WrestleMania 32 week. She left in 2020 but returned two years later, working backstage at major events.
Kelley herself has expressed interest in elevating WWE’s social media content. In a 2023 interview, she said she believes WWE still has plenty of room to start feuds and tell stories through exclusive social media content.
WWE has also been exploring other avenues for Kelley. Earlier this year, she trained at the Performance Center, taking part in promo classes and in-ring sessions, though she has said she has little interest in actually working a match.
