Brie Bella has acknowledged that her latest run in WWE has depended directly on a change in Bryan Danielson’s routine.
In an appearance on The Sal Licata Show, the WWE Hall of Famer said the end of her husband’s regular in-ring career opened the door for her to get back into training and traveling, while he took on a bigger share of the childcare duties with their kids, Birdie and Buddy.
“For me, I’m lucky because my husband’s so supportive. Because he retired from in-ring, it gave me the opportunity to come back. When I started to realize his schedule, I was like, ‘I really want to make a comeback. Obviously, I want you to be my coach. I really want to train hard. It’s going to be a lot of work, but will you be able to deal with the schedule?’ And he was like, ‘Yes, 100%.’
I honestly couldn’t do it without him. I feel so blessed. He’s been picking up all those times when it was just the kids and me. It’s funny because I’m like, ‘You’re like Pinterest.’ He’s crushing it—the homemade meals, the fun snacks, the arts and crafts. He’s doing a great job. But honestly, I couldn’t do it without his support because he allows me to come out here and do what I love.”
The situation has changed a lot in less than a year. Back in July 2025, Brie said Danielson’s AEW contract was a “roadblock” to her WWE return. Months later, she made her comeback at the 2026 Royal Rumble and began working with her husband weekly as her coach, receiving harsh critiques after every performance.
The support was also decisive ahead of WrestleMania 42. After Nikki Bella’s injury, Brie considered pulling out of the match, but Danielson asked her to follow her heart, reminding her that opportunities of that size become rare at this stage of a career.
Brie went on to win the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship with Paige. The team made four successful defenses before dropping the titles to Fallon Henley and Lainey Reid of Fatal Influence this past Saturday at Saturday Night’s Main Event.
