Eric Bischoff floats the possibility of Brock Lesnar competing in Real American Freestyle following his WWE retirement.

Brock Lesnar May Not Be Done Competing After WWE Retirement

Brock Lesnar officially announced his retirement from pro wrestling on August 4, but Eric Bischoff has raised a new possibility for the former WWE Champion’s future.

The retirement came three days after Lesnar lost to Oba Femi in a Hell in a Cell Match at SummerSlam on August 1 at U.S. Bank Stadium in Minneapolis. Following the match, Brock embraced Femi and declared the young star the future of WWE.

Appearing on The Game Plan, Bischoff was asked whether Lesnar might compete in Real American Freestyle, the professionalized amateur wrestling league he co-founded alongside Hulk Hogan, Chad Bronstein, and Izzy Martinez.

Bischoff didn’t completely rule it out.

“Anything’s possible.”

The former WCW president said he considers it unlikely, though. Bischoff explained that Lesnar prefers the quiet life on his farm, far from public appearances, and wants to spend more time with his family right now.

Still, Brock’s background in competitive wrestling keeps Bischoff from closing the door completely.

“So there might be a chance.”

Bischoff pointed out that Lesnar was an NCAA Division I champion at the University of Minnesota in 2000, noting that foundation was essential to everything he went on to accomplish in WWE, UFC, and even his attempt to make the NFL.

Lesnar himself said after announcing his retirement that he plans to be more involved in his children’s athletic pursuits, including Mya Lesnar’s shot put career.

Real American Freestyle, meanwhile, continues to grow. The next event, RAF 12, takes place on August 22 in Cleveland and will stream on Fox Nation. The organization has already featured names like Gable Steveson, Khamzat Chimaev, Colby Covington, and Henry Cejudo.
