Add as a preferred source on Google Brock Lesnar confirmed Tuesday that he has hung up his boots. During an appearance on The Pat McAfee Show, the former WWE Champion said he plans to focus on his family, hunting and his kids’ sports after ending his career at age 49.
Lesnar said his two sons play hockey, while his daughter has her sights set on competing in the 2028 Olympics. The Beast Incarnate also thanked WWE, TKO, Dana White, UFC, the Minnesota Vikings and the University of Minnesota for the opportunities he’s had throughout his career.
“I’ve got some hunting lined up, and I’ve got two boys in hockey. I’m gonna support that and their dreams as long as that’s feasible, and my daughter, she’s got her eye on the 2028 Olympics.
I’m just gonna spend some more time with the kids and in the woods, and just reap what I’ve sown. Just enjoy life.
I spent the last two days in bed. I got run over by a Nigerian Nightmare dump truck [Oba Femi] on Saturday night, and it’s time.
I’m 49, and I still want to be able to get around and move, but I’m grateful, very grateful. Oba was great, and the WWE Universe. I want to thank the promotion itself, TKO, Dana White, UFC, the Minnesota Vikings and the University of Minnesota — everybody that believed in me and took a chance on me. I’m just grateful.”
The announcement cleared up the uncertainty left by WrestleMania 42. Lesnar lost to Oba Femi and left his boots and gloves in the ring in an apparent farewell, but returned just over a month later.
The rivalry continued at Clash in Italy. Lesnar hit seven F-5s to win the rematch and, as he left the ring, reminded Femi that their series was tied 1-1. The result set up the deciding match at SummerSlam.
The third match took place last Saturday at U.S. Bank Stadium in front of Lesnar’s hometown crowd in Minneapolis. Femi defeated Lesnar inside Hell in a Cell. Afterward, the veteran embraced the Nigerian star, grabbed the mic and declared him the future of WWE.
