Bron Breakker went from a possible Royal Rumble winner and future world champion to a member of WWE‘s tag team division in just a matter of months, and the constant swerves in direction reportedly left him deeply frustrated early in 2026.
During a recent episode of Self Made Sessions, Self Made Pro revealed that he was initially given the information off the record and has now been cleared to share it publicly.
“I can finally say this. I was not allowed to say this earlier because it was off the record, but now it’s on the record. I can tell you guys publicly, for a fact, that some of what happened with Bron Breakker creatively did frustrate him. Like, Bron Breakker, for a fact, was very frustrated with how a lot of his creative played out early this year.”
Beyond the frustration, Breakker reportedly reached out to people within WWE to discuss a complete change in direction.
“I have a scoop. I can tell you for a fact that Bron Breakker has explored his options creatively from the standpoint of pivoting away from this. I can tell you he had conversations with people in the company about ejecting himself from this situation and being put in another situation creatively.”
The frustration makes more sense when you look at the original plans. Breakker was set to lose to CM Punk on the January 5 episode of RAW, win the Royal Rumble, and then defeat Punk for the World Heavyweight Championship at WrestleMania 42. WWE, however, scrapped the entire plan and pulled him from the main event.
At the Royal Rumble, Breakker was attacked by a masked man during his entrance and wound up getting eliminated by Oba Femi in just ten seconds. He returned at WrestleMania 42, cost Seth Rollins his match against Gunther, and kicked off a lengthy rivalry with The Visionary.
Breakker defeated Rollins at Backlash but dropped his next two matches, including a Steel Cage Match at Night of Champions.
He remains part of The Vision and recaptured the World Tag Team Championship alongside Austin Theory on the July 6 episode of RAW.
