Carmella has walked back her comments about being retired from pro wrestling.
Earlier, on the Hot Mom Sh!t Podcast with Laura Clery, the former WWE wrestler described herself as retired and said she could no longer wrestle after becoming a mother. The comments were quickly taken as an official retirement announcement.
Hours later, Carmella took to X to clarify, denying that she’s retired and revealing that the foot problem that kept her out of action has healed.
“You guys…. My foot is healed. And I’m in the best shape of my life….. definitely not retired 🤑”
Carmella has now revealed that she is NOT retired and is fully healed.
6:13 PM · Sep 1, 2026The update is significant. Carmella hasn’t wrestled since March 2023 and suffered nerve damage after the birth of her first child, developing drop foot. Her recovery stalled for a long stretch and ruled out any concrete plans for a return.
This isn’t the first time Carmella has left the door open for a comeback. In April, she said she hadn’t retired and teased a return after B3CCA used a move similar to the Code of Silence in AEW.
Carmella has been a free agent since February 2025, when her WWE contract expired.
