Chad Gable is back on WWE programming. On this Friday’s edition of Friday Night SmackDown, held at the Unipol Arena in Bologna, Italy, the former Alpha Academy leader finally returned under his original name.
The return happened during a backstage segment involving Sami Zayn and Nick Aldis. Sami was complaining about being treated like the villain in the situation involving Cody Rhodes and Gunther when he was interrupted by the SmackDown General Manager.
Aldis told Zayn to stay out of Rhodes and Gunther’s business, saying he had only made the situation worse. When Sami asked who could possibly be more important at that moment, Gable appeared, ending the conversation between the two.
As we exclusively reported earlier here at Wrestling Noticias, Gable was already expected to return to SmackDown this week after a long stretch away from weekly programming while living in Mexico as “Original” El Grande Americano.
The return comes just days after AAA Noche de Los Grandes, which took place on May 30 in Monterrey, Mexico. In the main event, El Grande Americano defeated “Original” El Grande Americano in a Mask vs. Mask Match, in what experts are considering the best match of the year so far.
