Add as a preferred source on Google Chad Gable received one of the highest compliments possible after being unmasked in his Mask vs. Mask match at AAA last Saturday in Monterrey, Mexico.
During an appearance on Busted Open Radio, JBL said Gable is the best wrestler in the world today, especially because of what he delivered as the “Original” El Grande Americano at Noche de Los Grandes.
“When Chad first came back, we’re sitting there thinking about it — it’s easy to be a campy heel like he was in WWE with the videos of the Varsity Club or whatever the heck it was. But then to all the sudden try to get heat down in Mexico, that’s a different level, it’s not even the same business. He had a match down there with La Parka that was just phenomenal. I think Chad Gable is the best wrestler in the world and I don’t think it’s close. That was absolutely amazing what he and Kaiser did.”
As previously reported by Wrestling Noticias, Gable was defeated by El Grande Americano, the character portrayed by Kaiser. After the match, he removed his mask, revealed his face to the crowd, and received “Thank you, Gable” chants.
Gable is also set to return to the Raw roster, where he is expected to receive new opportunities following his recent success.
