Charlotte Flair says her father’s social media activity is a daily source of arguments between the two of them.
Charlotte made the comments on this week’s episode of What’s Your Story?, the podcast hosted by Stephanie McMahon.
She said she frequently asks Ric Flair why he writes in such an aggressive way, and she often has to warn him about things he picks up from obscure websites, including images generated by artificial intelligence.
“The amount that we fight about his social media. I cannot tell you, it’s a daily thing. I’m like, ‘Why are you in all caps? Why are you yelling at me in your posts?’ Here is what I learned…I was talking to Nattie the other day, and she was talking about Bret, and I was talking about my dad, and she’s like, ‘You know what, he’s earned the right to have an opinion.’ I was like, ‘Okay, that’s one way to look at it.’ Just let him have his opinion. I’m like, ‘Who are you fighting with? I’m just confused.’ He’s like, ‘I saw it here.’ Seven people follow that website. I comment sometimes. When it’s really bad, I won’t comment because I don’t want to draw (attention). Sometimes I make a joke out of it. When it’s really bad, ‘report, report.’ I have to tell him daily, ‘That AI image is not real.’ He sends me pictures of him and other people. ‘That didn’t happen.’ He’s like, ‘I’m just so proud of you.’ He is my biggest fan. If he would just let me manage his social.”
Charlotte also said a recent conversation with Natalya changed her approach a bit. While the two were talking about Ric Flair and Bret Hart, Natalya told her that both men have earned the right to share their opinions on pro wrestling more bluntly.
Ric recently drew heavy attention on social media again after criticizing people who compared Kenny Omega vs. Will Ospreay at AEW All In to his legendary rivalry with Ricky Steamboat, saying today’s wrestlers still fall short of what he and Steamboat did.
Despite the arguments, Charlotte made it clear that the two remain close.
