WWE Can’t Be Reactive to Social Media Criticism

WWE President Nick Khan says the company won't change its decisions just to satisfy critics on social media.

WWE Can’t Be Reactive to Social Media Criticism

WWE President Nick Khan said the company monitors fan criticism on social media, but has no plans to change its decisions simply because of the reaction online. He addressed the topic in an appearance on The Varsity with John Ourand, published Wednesday, September 9.

According to Khan, some complaints get reviewed internally and can lead to small adjustments when WWE believes there’s substance to what is being said. But he considers it a mistake to treat social media as an accurate reflection of public opinion.

Khan was blunt about companies that base their decisions directly on that kind of reaction.

“For companies that read it, believe it, and react to it, it never ever works.”

In Khan’s view, the company needs to trust the people who run its different departments rather than react immediately to every complaint. Khan said WWE Chief Content Officer Paul “Triple H” Levesque leads what he considers the best creative team in all of pro wrestling, and he also praised WWE’s live events and product departments.

The discussion started when John Ourand brought up the criticism over access to WWE’s premium live events through ESPN Unlimited. When the partnership took effect, subscribers with some providers still didn’t have access to the service through their TV subscriptions.

That situation has changed over the course of 2026. ESPN currently lists Comcast Xfinity and YouTube TV among the providers compatible with ESPN Unlimited, while YouTube confirmed on September 1 that the service is now part of its platform, including WWE’s premium live events.
