Chelsea Green deactivated her X account just hours after publicly responding to accusations involving her political views.

The controversy began after the latest WWE SmackDown, when Green and Tiffany Stratton recreated Sophie Cunningham’s viral gesture during the six-woman tag team match against Jade Cargill, Michin, and B-Fab. The match ended with Cargill’s team picking up the win.

The joke, which was initially tied to the WNBA, became associated by some fans with political discussions, leading to criticism of Green on social media.

In response, Green denied any connection to the MAGA movement and pushed back against the accusation with the following statement.

“I can handle you saying things about my looks or my talent but what you won’t do is spread lies about my political views. Since you’re so interested in spreading misinformation, here are the facts:

– I am a Canadian citizen

– I can’t vote in America

– I am not MAGA

– I am a liberal / democrat

– When I become a citizen, I will vote for a president who believes in equal human rights”

After the post, the @ImChelseaGreen account began showing the message “This account doesn’t exist” to anyone attempting to access it.

This is not the first time Green has deactivated her X account following a wave of criticism. In July 2025, she also announced a break from the platform after receiving attacks and threats over comments she made about Hulk Hogan following his death.
