Chelsea Green has confirmed she has no plans to return to X (formerly Twitter). The Interim WWE Women’s Champion noted that the platform’s toxicity and cyberbullying began taking a heavy toll on her mental health and professional relationships.
Speaking with Chris Van Vliet on Insight, Green explained that while she initially valued the platform for the creative outlet it provided outside WWE television, the negativity ultimately outweighed the upside:
“I love Twitter so much because it’s allowed me to fill my creative cup when I wasn’t necessarily able to at work, but unfortunately it has allowed that toxicity and negativity to take over.
“I will not allow the internet to cyber-bully me or any of my friends, and I was becoming this online vigilante, and it was just biting me in the ass. I’m not going to allow them to tell me what my beliefs are or who I vote for, even though I’m Canadian. We’ve laughed about that. I’m not going to allow them to tell me what race my friends are, to bully my family, to say things about my coworkers that are untrue or unfair or whatever. I can’t do it.
“I cannot do it. I hate bullying and I really hate cyberbullying and the narrative that Twitter comes up with and the dog-piling. It’s too much. I love the fandom, but unfortunately, the fandoms-they also turn into bullying.”
Her exit from the platform came in July after users accused her of supporting the MAGA movement. Green pushed back against the claims at the time, pointing out that as a Canadian citizen, she cannot vote in U.S. elections.
Addressing the broader personal impact, she detailed how the hostility escalated, revealing that users began fabricating backstage rivalries and mistaking her television character work for genuine friction with colleagues.
Despite stepping away from X, Green remains active on other social media platforms, including Instagram.
