CM Punk tripped on steel steps after SmackDown in Toronto but appears uninjured.

CM Punk Has Concerning Moment After WWE SmackDown

CM Punk had a scare right after the August 21 Friday Night SmackDown at Scotiabank Arena in Toronto, Ontario, Canada.

Fan-shot footage captured after the show went off the air shows the Undisputed WWE Champion walking backwards at ringside when he apparently tripped on the steel steps and fell to the ground. Punk stayed down for several moments as referees rushed over to check on him.

Despite how alarming the moment looked, there is no indication that Punk suffered an injury. Another fan video showed him back on his feet shortly after, kicking the steps and jokingly pretending he’d hurt his foot.

The incident came after an already physical night for Punk. In the main event, he defeated Kevin Owens to retain the Undisputed WWE Championship after Sami Zayn hit Owens with the title belt. Following the pinfall, Zayn attacked both men and closed the show holding the championship.

Punk also posted a message after the show thanking the Toronto crowd and turning his attention to Edmonton, the next stop on the tour.

As of this writing, WWE has not announced any schedule changes. Punk is booked for the August 22 live event in Edmonton, followed by Calgary on August 23 and RAW and SmackDown tapings in Ottawa on August 24.
