Cody Rhodes announced on Tuesday, September 8, that Pharaoh, his Siberian husky, had died. Pharaoh had been by his side for more than a decade and had become a familiar face to pro wrestling fans.
In his message, Rhodes shared personal memories of Pharaoh and said the dog had always been there for the family whenever things got difficult, leading Cody to call him his “crisis dog.”
Cody also reflected on Pharaoh’s bond with his daughter, Liberty, saying the dog seemed to have found his most important role in the family through her.

Pharaoh’s connection to pro wrestling extended well beyond Rhodes’ social media posts. At the inaugural AEW All Out on August 31, 2019, he joined Cody for his entrance ahead of his match against Shawn Spears, alongside Brandi Rhodes, Diamond Dallas Page, and MJF. AEW’s own recap listed Pharaoh as part of the Nightmare Family accompanying Cody that night.
Pharaoh also appeared on WWE programming. On the June 26, 2023, episode of Raw, he was with Cody during a backstage interview ahead of Cody’s match against Damian Priest.
Pharaoh’s popularity reached another level in 2024. WWE 2K24 included him in the Nightmare Family Pack as a Gold Rarity Manager Card, marking his official debut in the WWE video game franchise. 2K
A few months later, in August of that year, Cody announced that Pharaoh, then 13, would be making his final wrestling road trip. His age was catching up with him, and he was slowing down, so he would be staying home from then on.
Pharaoh also received his own Mattel action figure. He was released alongside Cody in the “Finish The Story” WWE Elite Collection two-pack, a Ringside Collectibles exclusive.
