Cody Rhodes is confirmed for next week’s WWE SmackDown, set for September 18 at the Hilliard Center Arena in Corpus Christi, Texas.
During the September 11 episode of SmackDown, WWE announced that Rhodes will sit down for an exclusive interview on next Friday’s show. It will be his first appearance on WWE programming since his loss to Randy Orton at Sunday Night’s Main Event on September 6.
The rivalry between Orton and Rhodes reignited at SummerSlam on August 1. Orton made his return to WWE and hit Rhodes with an RKO, paving the way for CM Punk to retain the Undisputed WWE Championship.
On the August 14 SmackDown, Orton attacked Rhodes again before his match against Sami Zayn, sparking a brawl that spilled across the arena.
This week, Orton came to the ring and said Rhodes is a good man but doesn’t have the killer instinct to finish his opponents. The Viper also made it clear that his next goal is to win a 15th world championship.
WWE also announced that Money in the Bank qualifying matches will continue on the September 18 SmackDown. Bron Breakker and Sol Ruca earned the first spots on the September 7 RAW.
