Logan Paul wants to turn Conor McGregor’s latest injury into an opportunity to finally make the match between them happen.
On the most recent episode of ImPaulsive, recorded with Sean O’Malley, the WWE star revealed that he texted one of his bosses shortly after McGregor’s loss to Max Holloway at UFC 329.
“Something I find so funny, he definitely has roasted WWE and WWE Superstars in the past. He put out a tweet dissing Roman Reigns. At the moment, Conor is doing WWE. He is incapable of fighting.
I don’t think WWE will let me fight anyone. I’ll be honest, I texted my boss after Conor lost. I was like, ‘Bro, Conor is cooked, do something with it. Make a bag, let me fight him. Big WWE star versus big WWE star, cause that’s what he is now.’ He said that he thinks he’s done.”
For context, the comment about McGregor being a “WWE star” was a jab, not confirmation that the Irishman has signed with the company.
The fight between the two has come close before. In December 2024, McGregor announced a preliminary deal for a boxing exhibition against Paul in India. He later said the UFC blocked the project from moving forward.
Right now, though, both are dealing with injuries. McGregor tore the ACL and meniscus in his right knee during the loss to Holloway, which ended in just 69 seconds, and he’s targeting a return in summer 2027 to fulfill the last fight on his UFC contract.
Paul, meanwhile, had surgery after tearing his triceps on May 23 during a defense of the World Tag Team Championship. Doctors initially projected a six-month recovery.
Since WWE and UFC are both owned by TKO, the corporate structure brings a possible negotiation closer. So far, though, no fight has been announced, and Paul’s message amounts to only an initial pitch.
