Drew McIntyre, who has been out of WWE programming since WrestleMania 42, gave a new update on his situation on Saturday, July 25, 2026.
In a recent post on X, the Scottish Warrior shared a photo taken in an outdoor setting, wearing period attire. The caption read simply: “Cinema.”
The photo reinforced that McIntyre remains focused on his projects outside the ring. He is part of the cast of The Last Druid, a historical action film starring Russell Crowe that is currently filming in Spain. The project follows a Roman emperor who discovers an isolated Druid stronghold in Caledonia, though McIntyre’s role has not been revealed.
According to PWInsider, there were no creative plans in place for McIntyre’s return at this time. McIntyre was pulled from the most recent Fanatics Fest because of the shoot. That came after McIntyre had already wrapped his scenes on the Highlander reboot, in which he will play the brother of Connor MacLeod, the character played by Henry Cavill.
McIntyre’s last match came on April 18, 2026, when he lost to Jacob Fatu in an Unsanctioned Match on the first night of WrestleMania 42. He has not appeared on WWE television since.
