Patrick Clark Jr., known to WWE fans as Velveteen Dream, caused a massive scene during the Duel Arena 1 press conference in Orlando, Florida.
Clark is set to make his professional boxing debut against Pillow Talk podcast host Ryan Pownall in a cruiserweight bout. The tension between the two boiled over well before fight night.
The chaos kicked off when Dream brought up some of the major arenas he performed in during his WWE run, including Madison Square Garden and Barclays Center. Pownall cut him off and mocked his current career, saying Dream had gone from those venues to fighting in “food courts at the mall.”
Dream immediately jumped to his feet and tried to go after Pownall. Security stepped in before any contact was made.
He grabbed a metal pole and tried to hit his opponent with it and was kicked out. Then he came back and crashed the stage and destroyed everything 😭
The situation escalated further when Dream grabbed a metal bar and went after Pownall again. Security confiscated the bar and escorted him out of the press conference. Moments later, Dream came back and stormed the stage, knocking over parts of the set.
Despite the chaos, Dream and Pownall never actually came to blows.
Velveteen Dream also remains active in pro wrestling. On July 26, he defeated Myles Hawkins, Alec Odin, and Ken Dixon in a Steel Cage Match to capture the MCW Heavyweight Championship.
In WWE, Clark held the NXT North American Championship before being released in May 2021.
Duel Arena 1 takes place this Saturday, August 29, at the Kia Center in Orlando, Florida.
