GUNTHER believes a potential match against Oba Femi would need to happen at the right time.
During an appearance on the No-Contest Wrestling podcast, the “Ring General” explained how he imagines the in-ring dynamic between the two.
“Just to clarify, because I’m tall and I’m a heavyweight, a lot of people often put me in that conversation when they think about matches with Oba. But it wouldn’t be something like Oba and Brock. I wouldn’t meet Oba on a purely physical level, in the sense of trying to match him strength for strength. He’s stronger than I am. I don’t know if he’s a little bit taller or not, and he’s younger than I am, so that makes absolutely no sense.
“What would make that interesting is seeing me work from underneath a little bit, wrestling from underneath against a stronger opponent. I think that would also be an interesting test for him — seeing how he lasts in a longer match and how he endures 20 minutes with somebody much, much more experienced than him.
“That’s why I need him to gain experience first. Because when I meet him, I want to meet him on equal footing.”
Oba Femi has been treated as one of WWE’s top rising stars since his main roster call-up following a dominant run in NXT.
Femi defeated Brock Lesnar at WrestleMania 42, and later this week, the two will face each other again at Clash in Italy.
