Gunther once again showed pride in ending the careers of some of the biggest names in recent WWE history.

In an exclusive interview published on WWE’s official YouTube channel ahead of WWE Clash in Italy, “The Ring General” spoke about what it felt like to be at the center of major moments involving John Cena, Goldberg, and AJ Styles.

“To you, to everybody else in the back, to the WWE universe, someone like John Cena and Goldberg, they’re heroes. They’re not to me. It’s some of the greatest days of my life to stand in the middle of that and feel everybody carrying burden with them, carrying anxiousness with them.

And to be in the middle of all of that and being able to disrupt it all, what a feeling.”

The comments come at a major moment for Gunther. This Sunday, he will face Cody Rhodes for the Undisputed WWE Championship at Clash in Italy, live from Inalpi Arena in Turin, Italy.

Rhodes vs. Gunther will open the premium live event, which begins at 2 p.m. ET in the United States and streams on ESPN Unlimited. The first hour will also air on ESPN.
