Jimmy Hart revealed a curious request he received from Triple H before accompanying Hulk Hogan at the historic first WWE RAW episode to air on Netflix in January 2025.
The segment took place at the Intuit Dome in Inglewood, California, and was meant to promote WWE’s partnership with Real American Beer, Hogan’s brand. Hart appeared alongside the Hulkster while carrying the United States flag.
During an appearance on Cody Rhodes’ What Do You Wanna Talk About?, Hart said Triple H made a point of giving him instructions backstage before the entrance.
“When I went out with Hulk for that California deal we did, I had the flag. Triple H goes, ‘Jimmy, whatever you do, don’t let that flag touch the ground.’ I said, ‘Don’t worry baby I ain’t.’
“If I had raised it any higher I’d have ripped my arms out of my socket. I was waving the heck out of that darn thing.”
The moment became one of the most talked-about parts of Raw’s Netflix debut. Hogan was booed through almost the entire promo, including when he spoke about Netflix, Real American Beer, and his old partnerships with Randy Savage and André the Giant.
According to Hart, Hogan already knew the negative reaction could happen, mainly because of his political stance before the event. Even so, he decided to go through with the appearance as planned.
It ended up being one of Hogan’s final public WWE appearances before his death in July 2025.
