Triple H, who announced his in-ring retirement in 2022, has finally been removed from WWE’s internal list of active talent.
According to PWInsider, Paul Levesque had still been listed internally as an active talent, despite there being no real expectation that he would return to the ring.
The move stands out because of how long it took to happen. Triple H announced his retirement during an ESPN First Take interview in 2022 after dealing with serious heart issues.
A few days later, at WrestleMania 38, he opened the second night of the event and left his boots in the center of the ring, a symbolic farewell to his in-ring career.
Since then, Levesque has worked strictly behind the scenes and in special appearances. He currently serves as WWE’s Chief Content Officer, overseeing areas such as creative, talent relations, live events and talent development.
Triple H was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2025.
