Jonathan Coachman hasn’t backed down from his reporting on the backstage relationship between Bron Breakker and Logan Paul in WWE. After Breakker dismissed the story as “clickbait,” the former commentator said he stands by his sources, though he clarified that he never meant to suggest Breakker hates Paul personally.
The controversy started on August 11, when Coachman said on The Coach & Bro Show that Breakker was reportedly unhappy with his role on The Vision and felt WWE was putting too much focus on the Austin Theory storyline.
During that same appearance, he also claimed that Breakker wasn’t getting along with Paul. Later that week, Paul responded with a simple “wtf lol.”
This Wednesday, August 26, Breakker weighed in on the matter himself. In a new video on Paul’s YouTube channel, the two were seen talking casually backstage, laughing and making plans to hang out after the show. When asked about the reports of a strained relationship, Breakker said:
“Jesus Christ. It’s a new narrative every week, clickbait, clickbait.”
Coachman later addressed the situation and doubled down on his reporting:
“I’m not lying to you. I said that Bron wants out. He’s not a big fan of working with Logan Paul, and my sources are there. It’s okay. I’m not saying he hates working with Logan. I’m saying he doesn’t like it. That doesn’t mean he hates Logan Paul. It means he doesn’t like working with Logan.”
“By the way, I said this, look, two or three weeks ago. I said he doesn’t like being around that group. If I misspoke, that’s what I said. He doesn’t like being in that group and being around that.”
Coachman also said he’s a fan of Logan Paul and flatly rejected the accusation that he fabricated the story for engagement.
“He said I did it for clickbait. I don’t do anything for clickbait! I get someone to tell me something, and the person who told me… Vince, how many times have I said something on the show, and it’s right right away or correct a few times? Many times. Most of the time I have been dead on. We’re also not here to break news. We might do it once every two or three months, but I could care less about clickbait.”
