Kevin Nash said he has all but stopped following today’s wrestling after being put off by the Roman Reigns vs. Seth Rollins match at WWE SummerSlam 2026.
Reigns and Rollins main-evented Night 2 of SummerSlam on August 2 at U.S. Bank Stadium in Minneapolis. The match ended with Reigns picking up the win to retain the World Heavyweight Championship, which he had won from CM Punk months earlier at WrestleMania 42.
On a recent episode of Kliq This, Nash criticized the style of modern matches, saying the business has come to prioritize big spots over psychology. The WWE Hall of Famer singled out Reigns vs. Rollins as the moment he lost interest in keeping up with the product.
“I think the problem was the business turned more and more high spot, and less and less psychology. It’s like 12 minutes of high spots. That’s it for me. I’m done. I don’t think I’ve come back. Like, I haven’t come back to wrestling.”
The closing stretch of the match featured several kickouts. Rollins kicked out of a Spear, and Reigns took a Buckle Bomb followed by a Stomp and kicked out as well. Later, Reigns accidentally caught the referee with another Spear. Rollins still managed to land a Stomp, but Reigns fought back and hit three straight Spears for the win.
Despite those comments, Nash made clear that he has not given up on wrestling entirely. He still watches older matches that turn up on his Instagram, though he showed little interest in the current product.
