Seth Rollins Says He Could Face Roman Reigns Again

Seth Rollins, who has been off WWE television since SummerSlam, has opened up about the possibility of facing Roman Reigns again down the line.

In a recent interview with ESPN New York, Rollins said his August match with Reigns closed the book on the long-running Shield betrayal story that began in 2014, though not necessarily on the rivalry between them.

“Never say never.”

Rollins, 40, said he believes he and Reigns, 41, still have plenty of time to stay at the top of WWE. As he sees it, another match between the two will remain a possibility as long as there are championships and major accomplishments at stake.

“As long as there are titles to be won and legacies to be made, I can see it happening again.”

Reigns and Rollins main-evented Night 2 of SummerSlam on August 2 in Minneapolis, with Reigns hitting three straight spears to win the match and retain the World Heavyweight Championship. Afterward, the two shared the signature Shield fist bump to close the show.

Rollins has not returned to WWE television since then, but he did appear at WWE house shows in South America during September. He recently said he will come back when he feels the time is right.
