Kofi Kingston’s Potential Post-WWE Ring Name Revealed

Kofi Kingston may have already settled on the name he’ll use in his post-WWE career, just over three months after wrapping up a nearly two-decade run with the company.

On Thursday, Kofi filed two new trademark applications, one for “Kofi Sarkodie-Mensah,” his real name, and another for “KSM,” the initials derived from it.

Both filings cover pro wrestling performances, appearances, interviews, and merchandise including t-shirts and hats.

The “KSM” filing is the one drawing the most attention, as it suggests a potential new ring name for the former WWE Champion. Kofi hasn’t officially confirmed any name change, though, and has simply been billed as “Kofi” at his public appearances.

Xavier Woods, meanwhile, has reverted to Austin Creed, the name he worked under before joining WWE.

The trademark activity comes as speculation continues to build around the duo’s next move. According to Fightful Select, sources have not yet confirmed that Kofi and Creed have signed with AEW, but there is an expectation that both will end up with the company soon.

Both are now past their WWE non-compete windows and have been announced for Chris Jericho’s Rock ‘N’ Wrestling Rager at Sea, which departs from Miami on November 7.

With AEW All In scheduled for August 30 at Wembley Stadium, speculation about a debut at the event has picked up considerably.
