New Day Expected to Sign With AEW Soon

Kofi Kingston and Austin Creed are closing in on a move to AEW after leaving WWE in early May.

Fightful Select reports that sources within Tony Khan’s promotion have not definitively confirmed that the two have signed. The expectation, however, is that Kofi and Creed will be joining AEW soon.

Back in May, Fightful reported that every source they spoke with inside AEW was in favor of bringing in the duo, including key figures within the company. Tony Khan declined to comment at the time, as both men were still under contractual obligations to WWE.

That hurdle has since been cleared. Kofi and Creed have completed their 90-day non-compete windows and are now free agents.

The two were also announced this week for the upcoming Chris Jericho’s Rock ‘N’ Wrestling Rager at Sea, which sails out of Miami from November 7 through November 11. Woods has reverted to using the name Austin Creed, while Kingston is being billed simply as Kofi.

Speculation points to Kofi and Creed debuting at All In: London on August 30.
