Liv Morgan considers WWE SummerSlam 2024 one of the most memorable moments of her career, mainly because of the crowd reaction to her kiss with Dominik Mysterio.
Speaking on IGN, Morgan was asked about the best crowd reaction she’s ever gotten in WWE. She picked the moment Dominik turned on Rhea Ripley and fully committed to his alliance with her.
Morgan explained that even after she beat Ripley, there was still doubt about Dominik’s true intentions. Then Mysterio settled it. He picked her up and kissed her, drawing a massive reaction from the stadium. For Morgan, what made the scene so special was the mix of shock, outrage, and fans wishing they were in either one’s place.
She also pointed to Stephanie McMahon, who was in the crowd and was caught looking completely stunned by the kiss. Back in April, Morgan had already said she didn’t fully realize how loud the crowd was until she watched the footage back, since SummerSlam took place in an open-air stadium.
The moment took place on August 3, 2024, at Cleveland Browns Stadium (now Huntington Bank Field) in Cleveland, Ohio. Morgan opened the show defending the Women’s World Championship against Ripley and retained after Dominik distracted the referee, allowing her to hit Oblivion onto a steel chair.
Morgan had already kissed Dominik after the May 27 episode of Monday Night RAW. At SummerSlam, though, it was Mysterio who publicly confirmed his choice by walking away from Ripley and leaving with Morgan.
