Dominik Mysterio knows some WWE fans want to see him in a bigger role, but he believes there’s plenty of time to get there.
Speaking on Unlikely with Adrian Hernandez on September 11, the current AAA Mega Champion was asked for his message to fans waiting to see him in a larger spot in WWE. Mysterio asked for patience and pointed out that he isn’t even 30 yet.
“Be patient, young Padawans. I’m not even 30 yet,” Mysterio said. “Let your boy keep developing, we’re still growing. It is what it is. We’re on this rollercoaster of a ride together. Y’all been with me since I guess I was 8 years old, so 20 year vet. Just keep tagging along. I don’t even know what’s next. We’re all enjoying this ride together.”
The comments come at a time when Mysterio has had no shortage of screen time. At Sunday Night’s Main Event on September 6, he defeated Joe Hendry with a 619 and a Frog Splash.
Mysterio also continues to sit atop AAA. This Sunday, September 13, he defends the AAA Mega Championship against El Grande Americano on night two of TripleManía 34 at Arena CDMX in Mexico City.
His tone also marks a shift from what he told Esse Magazine on May 26. At the time, Mysterio said WWE didn’t know what to do with him and that the company had “lightning in a bottle” but was just letting it sit. Now, he says he’s in no rush to find out what comes next.
