The case involving the man accused of stalking Liv Morgan came to a close on Monday, June 15, in the United States after more than a year of legal proceedings.

Shawn Chan, a Canadian citizen, was found not guilty by reason of insanity by the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Florida. He had been facing a federal charge of interstate domestic violence, which could have carried up to five years in prison.

According to POST Wrestling, Chan waived his right to a jury trial, allowing Judge Mary S. Scriven to decide the case. The hearing lasted just over 30 minutes.

The ruling, however, does not mean Chan will simply be released. The judge ordered the U.S. Marshals Service to coordinate his transfer into ICE custody, the agency responsible for immigration enforcement in the United States. Since Chan is Canadian, he is expected to remain detained while deportation proceedings move forward.

The case began in May 2025, when Chan traveled from Scarborough, Ontario, to Florida. According to the complaint, he went to Morgan’s home, whose real name is Gionna Daddio, looked for a spare key, and tried to open the front door.

Security footage also showed Chan holding an air gun that had been on the porch. He was unable to enter the residence, but left behind a letter saying he was there for a “friendly visit.”

Days later, Chan showed up at the WWE Performance Center, where Morgan was present for NXT. WWE security recognized him from the footage taken at the wrestler’s home, leading to his arrest.
