Add as a preferred source on Google Liv Morgan is one win away from becoming Queen of the Ring. On this week’s WWE Friday Night SmackDown, the reigning Women’s World Champion defeated Charlotte Flair to secure her spot in the tournament final.
The central story of the match was Flair’s physical condition. WWE had already noted before the show that The Queen would not be entering the bout at 100% after suffering physical issues during her win over Roxanne Perez on Raw.
Morgan targeted Charlotte’s left leg for nearly the entire match. Even so, Flair survived an Oblivion, hit a Natural Selection from the top rope, and managed to lock in the Figure-Eight, but it was not enough.
In the end, Morgan went back after Flair’s injured knee and applied a Single Leg Boston Crab. Charlotte tried to fight through it, but eventually tapped out. With the win, Liv advanced to Night of Champions.
The final will be against IYO SKY, who advanced on Raw by defeating Raquel Rodriguez. The Queen of the Ring winner will earn a world title shot at SummerSlam.
Night of Champions will take place on Saturday, June 27, at Kingdom Arena in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
