Add as a preferred source on Google The War Raiders, the tag team of Erik and Ivar, are expected to return to WWE this Friday, July 17, on Friday Night SmackDown in Albany, New York.
According to Cory Hays of False Finish, the current AAA World Tag Team Champions will face Fraxiom, the team of Nathan Frazer and Axiom. WWE has not officially announced the match, and the promotion reached the day of the show without revealing a single bout for the card.
The match is expected to mark the War Raiders’ first televised bout in WWE since Erik and Ivar were pulled from WWE programming following an attack by Oba Femi in February.
During their time away from WWE rings, the duo began competing in AAA. On May 30 at Noche de Los Grandes, Erik and Ivar defeated Psycho Clown and Pagano to win the AAA World Tag Team Championship.
The War Raiders returned to SmackDown on June 5, showing off their AAA titles and challenging R-Truth and Damian Priest to a champion-vs-champion match. WWE has kept the story going since then, with new confrontations on the July 3 and July 10 episodes.
Fraxiom is also directly involved in the story. Frazer and Axiom already challenged Priest and Truth for the WWE Tag Team Championship on May 1 but were unable to capture the titles.
