Enzo Amore may be very close to returning to WWE, nearly eight years after his last official appearance on company programming.
According to False Finish, there is a growing belief backstage that the former WWE Cruiserweight Champion is on his way back, possibly tied to NXT. Amore had recently been spotted at the Performance Center in Orlando ahead of a weekly NXT show.
Speculation picked up even more after an update from Fightful Select. According to the outlet, independent promoters were told that Enzo is not accepting future dates he would normally take, which has added to the feeling that a WWE return is in the works.

The situation also involves Big Cass, currently known as Big Bill in AEW. His contract with Tony Khan’s company is reportedly nearing its end between late May and early June, opening the door to a possible WWE reunion for the duo.
According to WrestleVotes Radio, WWE has interest in bringing Enzo and Cass back together. The two are also said to still have a good relationship with several producers in the company, including names who worked with them during their first NXT run.
