Add as a preferred source on Google TNA has confirmed another major match for Slammiversary, which will take place Sunday, June 28, at Agganis Arena in Boston, Massachusetts.
Lei Ying Lee will put the TNA Knockouts World Championship on the line against Xia Brookside, her former Angel Warriors partner, in an extremely personal match.
The bout was made official on the latest episode of TNA iMPACT!, which aired on AMC and TNA+. Lee lost to Mr. Elegance in a Mixed Singles Match after interference from Brookside, who was on commentary before entering the ring after the match to announce the title match.
Brookside had already earned the match the previous week during the Knockouts Champions Challenge. In the main event, she pinned Lee after hitting Darkside, securing a future title opportunity.
The rivalry between the two came to a head at TNA Rebellion, when Brookside betrayed Lee and cost her a chance to regain the Knockouts World Championship from Arianna Grace. Lee made it back to the top in May, defeating Grace to become champion for the second time.
Slammiversary will air live on pay-per-view and TNA+, with the Countdown beginning at 3 p.m. ET and the main card starting at 4 p.m. ET.
