Steve Maclin is no longer part of the TNA Wrestling roster. The company confirmed on Sunday, June 7, that it had reached an agreement to release the former TNA World Champion from his contract.

According to Fightful Select, Maclin had requested his release from the company. Shortly afterward, TNA issued a brief statement announcing that he and Myla Grace had been released, effective immediately.

“TNA Wrestling has reached an agreement on the releases of Steve Maclin and Myla Grace, effective immediately. We wish them well in their next steps.”

The timing of Maclin’s departure stands out. He had re-signed with TNA in March, shortly after a storyline in which he was “fired” for grabbing the wrong briefcase in Feast or Fired.

He was later reinstated by Daria Rae and quickly moved back into the TNA World Championship picture, entering a direct rivalry with Mike Santana.

Their first match took place at Sacrifice on March 27, but it ended abruptly after Maclin suffered a legitimate concussion during the bout. The rematch took place on the May 21 episode of TNA iMPACT!, where Santana won and retained the world title.

Maclin had been with TNA since 2021 after leaving WWE, where he worked as Steve Cutler and was part of the Forgotten Sons. During his run with the company, he captured the IMPACT World Championship and became a two-time TNA International Champion.

As of now, there is no word on Maclin’s next destination. His departure comes during the same weekend in which he and Deonna Purrazzo promoted Battle For The Brave, a charity event held in Rahway, New Jersey, featuring names from TNA, AEW, and the independent scene.
