Baron Corbin is set for a new presentation in WWE following his surprise return this week on Friday Night SmackDown in Oklahoma City.

Triple H’s creative team has decided the former WWE Champion will now be billed as “Nomad” Baron Corbin. WWE confirmed the change itself, putting a new official t-shirt with the new name up for sale.

WWE filed a trademark application for “The Nomad” this past Friday, just hours before Corbin’s return.

The name isn’t new. After leaving WWE in late 2024, Corbin worked the independent scene as Bishop Dyer and adopted the nickname.

At the time, he explained that the name reflected his freedom to work for different promotions while still keeping a tie to his old character, “The Lone Wolf.” Corbin said it represented an evolution of his in-ring persona.

On SmackDown, Corbin showed up during the non-title match between Carmelo Hayes and United States Champion Trick Williams. He stopped Hayes from connecting with Nothing But Net, then attacked both men, bringing the match to a no-contest.

The booking suggests Corbin is expected to be thrust right into the United States Championship picture.

Corbin had been out of WWE since November 2024, when the company chose not to renew his contract. During his time away, he had stints with promotions including MLW, GCW, and Maple Leaf Pro Wrestling.
