Mandy Rose, who hasn’t wrestled in WWE since December 2022, said she thought about a surprise return to reunite on screen with Otis.
In a recent appearance on TMZ’s Inside the Ring, Rose said she followed the new storyline involving Otis, Maxxine Dupri and Austin Theory on social media. At the time, a lot of fans started calling for her to come back and save her old on-screen partner.
But there was one big problem. Rose was in the hospital, about to have her first child.
“I was like literally delivering my baby like that week.”
Rose said she considered posting a photo from the hospital to answer the fans. Asked whether she would have taken part had she been available, Rose made it clear the answer was yes, and that the moment would have gotten a big crowd reaction.
All of this came after the July 13 episode of Monday Night RAW. On the show, Otis tried to tell Dupri how he felt, but Theory humiliated him instead. Dupri acted like she was going to make up with her former Alpha Academy partner, which opened the door for Theory to attack Otis from behind.
Rose and Tino Sabbatelli had their first child weeks later. The couple announced the birth at the end of July. Rose last stepped into a ring in 2022, when she lost the NXT Women’s Championship to Roxanne Perez.
Rose also isn’t ruling out a return to pro wrestling. She said she would take a call from WWE, AEW or TNA, though any deal would have to fit where she is in her career now.
