Baron Corbin Reveals the One Goal He Still Wants to Accomplish in His New WWE Run

Baron Corbin came back to WWE with one goal he never reached during his first run with the company: winning a world championship.

Speaking with Sports Illustrated, the reigning United States Champion said he views this return as his last big opportunity to finish some unfinished business. He specifically pointed to becoming world champion and getting back into Money in the Bank.

Corbin returned on the July 10 episode of Friday Night SmackDown after roughly a year and a half away from WWE. A few weeks later, he defeated Trick Williams at SummerSlam to capture the United States Championship.

Money in the Bank remains a sore spot in his career. Corbin won the ladder match in 2017, but his cash-in attempt against Jinder Mahal on SmackDown failed after John Cena provided a distraction.

Corbin now wants to make up for that failure, and he is already looking beyond the United States Championship. He named CM Punk as a possible world title target and listed Roman Reigns, Gunther and Cody Rhodes among the big names he would like to face during this run.

First, he has other business to handle. Corbin faces Lil Yachty this Sunday at WWE Sunday Night’s Main Event. If the rapper can survive five minutes in the match, Trick Williams will get another shot at the United States Championship later that night.
