Add as a preferred source on Google Maxxine Dupri has finally explained why she turned her back on Alpha Academy to align herself with Austin Theory in The Vision.
In a recent interview with Complex, the star said she had reached her limit as Otis and Akira Tozawa’s stablemate, making clear that the decision wasn’t made on impulse.
“It just got to a point where I had to choose me. I’ve been choosing them for years, and that hasn’t gotten me anywhere.”
The comments come just days after Raw, where Maxxine helped Austin Theory and Bron Breakker win back the WWE World Tag Team Championship from The Street Profits.
During the closing moments of the match, Logan Paul distracted the referee, giving Maxxine room to hit a low blow on Angelo Dawkins. Theory capitalized on the opening, scored the pinfall, and sealed the win for The Vision.
Right after, Maxxine leaped into Theory’s arms and kissed him, making it clear she’s now part of the group.
Backstage, Paul Heyman also made a point of praising Maxxine, saying she was the one who truly delivered something important that night.
Maxxine joined Alpha Academy in 2023 and went through a significant evolution within the group, transforming from a comedic character into an active competitor in the women’s division.
