AEW has reshuffled all of its plans for the AEW Women’s World Championship heading into its upcoming pay-per-views.
Excalibur announced on Wednesday’s Dynamite that Mercedes Moné hasn’t been medically cleared to compete at All Out. Willow Nightingale will face Thekla at the event instead, with the winner earning a title shot against Moné at WrestleDream.
AEW didn’t disclose what medical issue is keeping Moné out. The champion, of course, broke her nose early in her match against Willow at All In: London on August 30, and later confirmed she needed stitches.
Willow and Thekla have already met for the AEW Women’s World Championship this year, as Nightingale defeated Thekla at Redemption on July 26 to end the Austrian’s 165-day reign. Willow held the title for 35 days before dropping it to Moné at Wembley.
All three were also involved on last week’s Dynamite.
All Out takes place on September 26 at the NOW Arena in Chicago, while WrestleDream is set for October 17 at the Addition Financial Arena in Orlando.
